Water Efficiency Bill SB407

March 24, 2014 By Dan Antonioli

SB407 was passed in 2009 and has gone into law in January of this year. This bill requires that all renovations on residential properties trigger the requirement that all plumbing fixtures be water efficient for the whole house. And by 2019 this will also be required for all apartments and commercial buildings. As you make improvements to your rental properties, you can start now in upgrading to the fixtures, toilets, and appliances that will meet these strict codes.

Water Conservation News Flash

Help fend off the drought and distinguish your business and/or property as a water conserving operation! Now is a good time to inspect all plumbing fixtures and appliances. All new toilets sold in California use only 1.28 gallons per flush. Why not upgrade now? If you don’t have the budget for it, make sure that the toilet flapper is properly sealed so that you don’t have a slow trickle leak running 24/7 and that wastes thousands of gallons of water.
